Tehri lake
The Tehri Dam on India’s Bhagirathi River, the main tributary of the Ganges, is one of the world’s largest and most controversial hydroelectric projects. Under construction since 1978, the final phase of reservoir filling is scheduled to start by December 2002. Within six months the homes and lands of around 100,000 people would be submerged. Power production is planned to begin in August 2003.

Surkanda Devi
Surkanda Devi is situated at an elevation of 3,030 m above sea level near village Kaddukhal, the temple of the Surkanda Devi is 40 km from Mussoorie and 24 km from Chamba. The temple site is accessible on foot, being about 2 km from the motorable road connecting Kaddukhal. The snow-covered Himalayas and the forest area between Mussoorie and Chamba offer a splendid view. A big local fair is held here in the month of June every year, attracting tourists from all over.

Dhanaulti
Dhanaulti is located in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand state offering panoramic views. Dhanaulti is emerging as a popular weekend getaway from Delhi as it is easily accessible affording exquisiteness and tranquility. Dhanaulti showers tourists with natural beauteousness throughout the year; therefore it can be visited at any time of the year. During summers the place acts as a relief from the sultry conditions of the plains and during winters the place is covered with snow. Dhanaulti rests on the misty mountains amidst dense alpine, oak and rhododendron forests. Kempty Fall
15 kms from Mussoorie on the Yamunotri Road having an altitude of 4500 ft. It has the distinction of being the biggest and prettiest waterfall located in a beautiful valley and is surrounded by high mountains. Bath at the foot of the falls is refresshing and enjoyabled for children and adults alike.

Mussoorie Lake
A newly developed picnic spot, situated on Mussoorie- Dehradun road and is about 6 kms from Mussoorie. It is a delightful spot. Pedal boats are availble. It commands an enchanting view of Doon Valley and nearby villages.
